Skyrmion pinning by disk-shaped defects

چکیده
High precision skyrmion pinning by an intentionally created magnetic structure is important in manipulation. Here, we consider various types of disks. Among other findings, clarify that, terms position and potential landscape, one needs to distinguish thin-wall skyrmions from thick-wall because fundamental differences. A wall prefers areas with a weaker exchange stiffness, larger DMI constant, or smaller anisotropy while core experiences only the anisotropy, not stiffness DMI. Depending on disk type, relative size (to skyrmion), can be pinned at symmetric (center) asymmetric (off-center) point disk. In case local energy minimum, thermal agitation depin skyrmion, lifetime follows Arrhenius law. Interestingly, when comparable size, deforms greatly such that will shrink expand fill whole These findings should for manipulations.

We study the scattering of Skyrmions at low energy and large separation using the method proposed by Manton of truncation to a finite number of degree freedom. We calculate the induced metric on the manifold of the union of gradient flow curves, which for large separation, to first non-trivial order is parametrised by the variables of the product ansatz.

Self-sustained mechanical vibrations of a disc-type microfabricated resonator were experimentally observed when a continuous wave (CW) laser beam was focused on the periphery of the disc (for a 40 μm diameter resonator, natural frequency 0.89MHz, the laser power above a 250 W threshold was required). A theoretical model for self-oscillatory behavior has been developed based on FEM analysis of a...

We study the scattering of two Skyrmions at low energy and large separation. We use the method proposed by Manton for truncating the degrees of freedom of the system from in nite to a manageable nite number. This corresponds to identifying the manifold consisting of the union of the low energy critical points of the potential along with the gradient ow curves joining these together and by posit...
